"In a growth mindset challenges are exciting rather than threatening. So rather than thinking, oh, I'm going to reveal my weaknesses, you say, wow, here's a chance to grow." – Carol S. Dweck
A woman who is inspiringly real, positive and wanting to make a difference.
I bring a broad synthesis of skills to my coaching for individuals and teams including;
over 4 years of consulting experience;
over 22 years as a corporate employee and leader working ‘helping others’ in human resources, training, projects and change management roles on large transformations and business improvement projects;
many Corporate Leadership and Training courses including Leadership, Teamwork, Various profiling tools, Customer Based Design, Strengths Deployment Inventory Facilitation (profiling) and Coaching in the Workplace;
many diverse development courses and programs ranging from Neuro Linguistic Programming, Somatic therapies, varying Yoga retreats and teacher training, Psychology studies, Mindfulness and Meditation;
working in retreats including yoga, couples and youth retreats; and
37 years of understanding as a mother and more recently a grandmother.
My development interests and experience combined with my corporate experience and knowledge gives me a broad appreciation for the business world and the benefits personal development can bring to an employee’s engagement, and a team’s performance in the workplace.
Following a 4 year ‘crisis period’ typified by the end of a 30 year marriage, surviving cancer, and gaining the nerve to take a redundancy I studied brain based Coaching based on Neuroscience principles. In this course I found the material, to be very relatable with scientifically backed techniques that answered many of my questions. It helped me see how to start living the life of my dreams including helping others to step into their own potential and improving the ways teams and businesses work together.
The brain based coaching techniques bring awareness to our thinking, to our habits and the behaviours that are getting our current results and it gives us skills to change. In particular, I see how powerful the growth mindset can be as a people leveler and collaboration enabler for work teams, helping to reduce the friction of personality in the workplace and thereby increasing the momentum of the business.
To facilitate the change of my own mindset I have taken on growth challenges (tackling the things I most desire but was/am also most fearful of) as ways to realise and grow my capabilities, these include;
In 2016 – A 100 day solo overseas adventure from hiking in Peru to volunteering in Africa, dancing (with friends) in Croatia and touring around Spain.
In 2017 – Starting my own business focused on helping others realise the beefits of growth like I am.
In 2018 - Becoming a Creatrix® Transformologist® to get deeper into releasing family programs and patterns for women. Supporting Kyeema Foundation helping to empower women and address food poverty in poorer nations.
2019 and beyond - having a positive impact on the growth of humanity in humans (stay tuned).
